Ingredients
1 tbsp lime zest (2 limes)
3.5 tbsp coconut oil
2/3 cup granulated sugar
Instructions
1) zest 2 limes until you have a tablespoon of zest and set it aside
2) microwave or double boil the coconut oil until it turns into liquid
3) stir in the sugar and lime zest
Tips: This homemade coconut lime sugar scrub will last for a few weeks. For longevity, make a small batch of the scrub & store it in a container with a tight lid. Be careful not to get any water inside the container while you are in the shower or tub. If you are looking for a scrub that has a longer shelf life you can replace the lime zest with a drop or two of food-grade lime essential oil. It’s important that the essential oil be very diluted and listed as safe for external use. If you have sensitive skin you may want to refrain from using a sugar scrub on your face. Never apply pure essential oils directly to your skin or face. You can apply the scrub with your hands or use a soap saver bag.
