You can also experiment with different types of herbs and fruits.  Try swapping the mango for honeydew or add some fresh berries to the mix!  There is no wrong way to make this sangria. Be as creative as you want to be with the recipe!

Mango & Nectarine Sangria Ingredients

2-3 mangoes peeled and cubed
4 nectarines cubed
1/2 cup fresh cilantro
3/4 cup fresh basil
1/4 cup fresh mint
1/3 cup ginger root peeled and sliced thin
2 tables spoons fresh orange juice
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
3/4 cup orange liqueur (optional)
1 bottle of Pinot Grigio (optional)

Instructions

1) Pour fruit, herbs, ginger, and juice into a glass pitcher.
2) Using a muddler gently press the ingredients so that some of their juices release
3) Add the wine and orange liqueur in and stir
4) Place in the refrigerator to cool before serving an hour or more
5) Add ice to the glasses
6) Drink within 1-2 days for best flavor

Tips: When you are gently muddling the fruit be sure to muddle the herbs and ginger too! You do not have to press very hard. The goal is not to smash the fruit or herbs. What you are trying to do is to soften them slightly so that their flavors will release into the sangria more easily. It’s important to add ice only to the glasses but not to the pitcher. This will help ensure that your sangria does not get watered down.
