Do you love microgreens? They are so tasty when used in salads or a sandwich topping. I just love them. I noticed that I am always wishing I had more salad greens and so I decided to try to grow my own at home. My first experiments were with sprouting jars and I had a lot of success growing broccoli greens from seeds. I realized pretty quickly that I wanted to have lots more greens and something super easy and foolproof so I decided to try out the Hamama seed quilts. Wow! What an incredible product.

I got the ceramic grow kit & ordered a bunch of different types of seed quilts to try. It actually came with several seed quilts and I’ve been loving each one I’ve grown. The first one I tried was the super salad mix quilt and then I tried the red cabbage. Absolutely gorgeous greens and so delicious! I’m very excited to try more varieties out!

I am not joking about the Hamama products being foolproof. You water it once and that’s it! I waited for 12 days and then ate them! I even went on vacation for 3 days and when I came back they had grown taller. It’s so easy, you won’t believe it.

I still love to sprout seeds in mason jars too but it takes a lot of energy to keep the seeds from growing mold and I much prefer the Hamama quilts. The ceramic container is so lovely and has little groves in the bottom that the water goes in. The mats are actually made out of coconut husk and I plan to reuse them for future experiments. I was really blown away by this product and it’s possibly my favorite zero waste purchase I’ve ever made. I hope you give these seed quilts a try and please let me know how you are liking them and what your favorite flavors are!

Tips: if you live in a hot climate you can try adding a little extra water to your dish as needed. I live in the Pacific Northwest and didn’t need the extra water, but you might where you live.
