Hang a Rainbow in Your Window to Spread Hope

The rainbow has become a symbol of gratitude for health care professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic. Much like the 7 pm applause from windows, colorful rainbows show appreciation and a ray of hope during these uncertain times.

As the coronavirus pandemic continues, children from all around the world are trying to lighten everyone’s spirits. Even though the trend began in Europe, rainbows have started showing up in people’s windows throughout the US, Canada, and around the world.  Rainbows can be found in many major cities.

It’s easy to create a rainbow with supplies you already have at home.  Here are some ideas:

Instructions
1.  take a large piece of paper or newsprint and draw a rainbow on it with watercolor paint or whatever supplies you have
2.  hang it in your window and make someone smile

You can also make rainbows out of scraps of colored paper or colored tissue paper.  Use your imagination and make it any way you like with anything you have. The more creative, the better! You don’t need to buy special supplies for this project. Use things that you already have laying around to save money and help save the planet!
