Do you love sun-dried tomatoes? Did you know you can make oven-dried tomatoes at home? The flavor is incredible & you can use them in so many dishes from dips to sauces. I love the smell of tomatoes baking in the oven with Italian herbs. They are so sweet & tangy and absolutely delicious. Spreading them on french bread with some fresh basil is one of my favorite snacks and they are a showstopper at a potluck or a bbq if you bring them in a dip and tell folks you made it from scratch.
What’s the difference between sun-dried and oven-dried tomatoes? The heat source! Sun-dried tomatoes are baked in the sun while oven-dried are baked in your oven, but it’s the same concept. Sun-dried tomatoes actually take much longer to make than oven-dried tomatoes. If you’re looking for an easy way to make these delicious tomatoes at home I highly recommend this recipe. Simply bake them at 250° for 4 hours and you won’t believe how incredible they are! I promise you it will be worth the wait when you taste them.
