Instructions
1) purchase a few taro roots from the grocery store or Asian market
2) let the taro root sit in a dark room-temperature place such as a pantry, cupboard or drawer
3) wait until the taro gets little buds on it
4) place the taro in a shallow dish of water in a window and change the water every few days
5) once the buds start to sprout transfer the taro into a pot that drains and cover with soil, leave the buds above dirt level
6) water when soil is dry and watch taro leaves sprout and grow
7) leaves will grow big and look healthy for many months & then they will start to die back. Once the leaves no longer look healthy and it appears they are dying then it’s time to harvest the root. Dig it up, rinse it off & it’s ready to cook! You should have more taro root than when you started and can start the process again with what you dig up!
