How to Make Your Own Lime-Infused Oil

Lime-infused oil can be made at home with a few simple ingredients. Not only is making your own oils at home easy but it will save you money too.
Ingredients
4 limes
zester or fine grater
mason jar
4 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
1) zest only the green outer part of the lime skin, be careful to avoid the pith of the lime
2) next, place lime zest into a mason jar
3) add 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the mason jar & stir ingredients
4) put the lid on the jar and let the oil and peel sit for several hours
5) boil several cups of water in a medium or large-sized pot. Remove from heat, place the mason jar into the hot water, and cover the pot with a lid. Let the pot cool for 30 minutes.
6) place a lid on the mason jar and let the mixture sit in a cupboard for one week
7) strain the mixture through a muslin cloth bag or sieve
8) using a funnel, pour the oil into a blue or brown 1oz bottle with a cork lid
Tips: Lastly, protect your infused oils from light exposure by storing them in a cupboard, it is best to use blue or brown glass rather than clear glass for longevity
